Kristin Fischer is set to join CNN as its Space and Defense Correspondent in July 2021. As the Space and Defence Correspondent for CNN, she's responsible for covering all aspects of space, from NASA and the newly formed Space Force up until commercial space firms, as well as the advent and growth of space tourism. As the daughter and the mother of two NASA astronauts, Kristin grew up in the space industry and spent the last five years covering the Biden and Trump Space Policy of the Administration as a White House Correspondent for FOX News. Through this time, she covered the presidential 2020 campaign, two impeachment trial as well as two initiatives to end the pandemic coronavirus, and two other administrations' initiatives. Additionally, she was on numerous trips with Vice President and President of the United States, including a top secret visit to Afghanistan along with the then-President Donald Trump. Before becoming a part of the company in, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up in local TV news stations including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she won one Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin started Field Mouse Films with her experience behind the camera in the year 2014. The company specialized in making documentaries for corporate clients, including Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin holds an Bachelor of Science in Journalism that she earned at Boston University. Her husband and three year-old daughter reside in Washington, D.C.
